Today, Celo Core Co. announces the latest Regional Ambassadors, supporting the Ethereum Layer 2 built for the real world with the leading programmable rails for global finance in Africa, Latin America, and Southeast Asia.

The four latest Ambassadors to join the ecosystem follow the introduction of 7 dedicated ecosystem stewards in March, who have contributed to Celo’s global expansion by onboarding and educating local communities in Argentina, Brazil, Ghana, Colombia, the Philippines, and East Africa. Since the beginning of Celo Core Co.’s Regional Ambassador program, Ambassadors have contributed to onboarding 95+ projects to Proof of Ship, 10+ additions to the MiniPay Mini App pipeline, and 4 already-live apps within MiniPay reaching 16M+ activated wallets.

Continuing this momentum are:

  • Camilo Sacanamboy — Colombia: A Colombian founder and software engineer who has been building products since 2013. Founder of Peewah and an active Celo builder, he has organized nationwide hackathons, mentored developers, and helped teams launch Mini Apps and onchain applications. He’s passionate about turning ideas into shipped products and growing the next generation of builders across Colombia.
  • Edidiong “DeFi Messiah” Umana — Nigeria: A Technical Ecosystem Architect and Developer Relations Advocate with over four years of experience accelerating Web3 adoption across the African frontier, Edidiong has trained and onboarded hundreds of builders through hands-on workshops, office hours, and strategic advocacy. As the Celo Nigeria Ambassador, he is focused on equipping local developers with the onchain tooling needed to ship real-world utility on Celo and MiniPay, advancing financial inclusion for the global majority.
  • Ghoza Nada Iqbal — Indonesia: A Smart Contract Engineer and Web3 builder based in Yogyakarta, Ghoza is a mentor and community builder at DevWeb3Jogja, onboarding the next generation of Indonesian developers into Web3. With experience building DeFi protocols across multiple EVM chains, Ghoza is focused on growing the Celo ecosystem and driving real-world crypto adoption in Indonesia.
  • Precious Ezema — Mini Apps: An Ecosystem and Operations Manager at the intersection of emerging technologies, focused on blockchain and AI. She builds communities, scales programs, and connects people, ideas, and opportunities across innovation ecosystems.

With this latest cohort, Regional Ambassadors are now active across seven countries, deepening Celo’s grassroots presence in the markets where adoption is strongest and where crypto is often most impactful.

Camilo, Edidiong, Ghoza, and Precious will build upon the groundwork the Regional Ambassadors have developed over the past four months. The first of this cohort to begin their work, since they’ve started Ghoza and Edidiong have already led builder workshops with Universitas Gadjah Mada Blockchain Club and ETH Jakarta, provided hands-on support to Mini App builders including Tycoon, Focus Pet, Blokaz, and more.
